Our Committee
We are governed by the Pre-School Learning Alliance constitution which means our parent-run committee must have 3 officers (Chair, Secretary & Treasurer) and between 2 and 9 addtional members. If there are not enough parents to make up the committee, then we would be regarded as non-constitutional and be forced to close. You can download a copy of our consitution here. Our current committee members are:
Simon Hutson (Chair, HR, IT, Web Site)
Alan Poole (Treasurer)
- Goulla Xanthoulis (Secretary)
- Charlotte Warrington (Fundraising)
Nicola Carr (Maintenance)
Sue Redmond (Grants)
Andrew Horton (Health & Safety)
- Charlotte Horton
- John Newport (Grants)
- Nicole Newport
- Amanda Ainsworth
The committee is involved with the day to day running of Chestnuts and over the last few years this has included activities such as helping to create the sensory garden, ensuring the building inside and out is safe and well maintained, applying for charity grants, as well as working with Wokingham Borough Council, Ofsted and the Charity Commission to ensure we are meeting our educational, legal and financial obligations.
We meet, usually on the third Tuesday of each month, to discuss matters arising during the previous month and to plan for any new activities. As parents of children currently at Chestnuts, this is our way of helping to ensure a bright future for such a wonderfull place, however we are always looking for more volunteers to join us.
If you would like to get involved and give something new a try, no experience necessary, please get in touch via the Contact Us page.
